Benjamin en Marianna Heertje- de Lara hadden twee kinderen. Henri (roepnaam Hans) en Dina. Beiden hebben de oorlog overleefd. Hans is halverwege de jaren vijftig verhuisd naar Amerika met zijn gezin. Hij was radiotechnicus Hij woont en leeft daar nog steeds. Dina is enkele jaren geleden overleden.

De heer en mevrouw Heertje hebben ondergedoken gezeten op de Hommelseweg 55 te Arnhem bij mijn groot ouders, R.F. Daems en C.W. Daems-Zoestbergen.
Afgezien van deze beide vrienden van de fam. Daems woonden er ook Sara Witteboon De Gorter en Albert Schiff.
Het verraad van dit adres kwam vanuit Ede.
