Roosje de Groot

Berdina de Vries was a daughter of Manus de Vries and Clara Bilderbeek. She married 5 December 1917 in Amsterdam Philippus de Groot from Vledder, born there 24 January 1889 as son of Hartog de Groot and Roosje Pinto. The couple had two children, namely Roosje in 1920 and Emanuel in 1922. During the Shoah the complete family was killed by the nazi’s.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 50890) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 4420/3528).
