Gertrud Schönbron was a daughter of Anton Schönbron and Selma Rosenbaum.
City Archive of Amsterdam, archive card of Gertrud Schönbron.

In J. Schelvis, Vernietigingskamp Sobibor (Amsterdam 1993) it is mentioned on page 181 that Gertrud Schönborn was the young woman who was called 'Loeka' by the leader of the rebellion in Sobibor in October 1943.

Gertrud Schönborn

Gertrud was a child of a so called "Mischehe", her mother was jewish, her father catholic. The familiy lived in Dortmund, Hohe Straße 61 1/2. Her mother Selma and a sister of Gertrud named Hilde survived the war. In 1938 Getrud married Walter Michael Poppert in Amsterdam. In Sobibor both were not murdered immediatly, but selected to work. Jules Schelvis ontdekte in 1966 twee briefkaarten in het gerechtshof van Dortmund waar toen het derde Sobibor-proces plaatsvond. De kaarten waren in 1943 geschreven in Sobibor. De ene kaart was geschreven door Walter Michel Poppert en de andere door zijn echtgenote Gertrud Schönborn.

De kaart van Gertrud, is slechts gedeeltelijk leesbaar, maar duidelijk is dat zij de konijnen verzorgde in Sobibor.…
