Joodsche 5-jarige HBS oorspronkelijk Mauritskade Amsterdam

Dit zijn persoonlijke herinneringen aan de klassen 1C en 2A van de Joodsche HBS van oktober 1941 tot december 1942 aan de Mauritskade en van december 1942 tot respectievelijk februari 1943 en juni 1943 in de Stadstimmertuinen te Amsterdam.

Met ingang van het schooljaar 1941/42 werd het Joodse kinderen verboden reguliere scholen te bezoeken. De Joodsche Raad moest allerlei scholen voor Joodse kinderen oprichten en Joodse leraren daarvoor aanstellen.

Aan de Mauritskade 24 te Amsterdam werd in oktober 1941 de “Joodsche HBS met Vijfjarige Cursus” geopend. (Deze naam stond nog tientallen jaren na de oorlog boven de ingang). Direct…
