Meijer Bleekrode was the son of Benjamin Bleekrode and Regina Boekman. The entire Bleekrode family worked in the diamond industry. My grandfather was a friend of Meijer...his name was Levie Deen and moved from Amsterdam to settle in Loosdrecht before WW2. Levie (Louis) is mentioned in the book about Meijer printed during 1983...the book belongs to my mother Erica Moen-Deen. Meijer painted my grandfather and also my mother.
