Jacob de Leon

Jacob de Leon was married to Sientje Soep. During the war he had to work at one of the Jewish labour camps, at Ellecom. He had to work at the estate Avegoor. He died at Ellecom and was buried at the nearby town of Rheden.

Het werkkamp in Ellecom/Jodenkamp Palästina/'SS-Schule Avegoor'       

De benaming 'Jodenkamp Palästina' zou een spotnaam zijn van de Duitsers voor het Joodse werkkamp te Ellecom. Deze benaming werd echter ook gebruikt door de Joodsche Raad van Amsterdam in een brief van 18 september 1942 aan het Gemeentelijk Bureau van Sociale Zaken in Amsterdam.
