Abraham de Swaan was een zoon van Benedictus de Swaan en Eva Wolf. Hij is op 14 augustus 1929 getrouwd met Engelina Cohen (1909-2010). Uit dit huwelijk werd dochter Eva (1930-1990) geboren. Het huwelijk werd op 2 april 1935 ontbonden.

Zijn tweede huwelijk met Catharina Maria Hagens werd op 9 september 1936 in Zaandam gesloten.
