About Rebekka Mahn-Melhado

Rebekka Melhado was a daughter of Salomon Melhado and Josephina Elsas. She married in 1922 in Rotterdam but her husband was admitted at the St. Joris mental hospital in Delft in 1925. Because it was impossible to divorce someone who was admitted into a mental institution, Rebekka Melhado started to live together with another man. In 1933 she gave birth to their child.
