About Juda Erwteman

Juda Erwteman was a son of Hijman Erwteman and Heintje Polak. He went already in 1924 to Antwerp in order to earn a living in the diamond industry.
Juda Erwteman was unmarried.
He was deported from Drancy in France to Auschwitz on 24 August 1942 with Convoy nr. 23.

A failed escape to Switzerland

Eliazer Heigmans left the Netherlands in the first half of July 1942, trying to escape to Switzerland to avoid deportation. He travelled in a group of 10, including his brother Samuel Heigmans and his fiancee Helena De Leeuw (born 26 April 1924). Eliazer lived either in Amsterdam or in Hilversum.
