Gerrit Berlijn and his family

In addition, a Jokos file (number 51068) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 836/10840).

De familie van Sara Polak en Gerrit Berlijn

De tweede dochter van Benjamin Polak en Roosje Pampel heette Sara Polak. Volgens haar archiefkaart in het stadsarchief van Amsterdam was zij bankbediende voordat zij haar man Gerrit Berlijn leerde kennen.

Gerrit Berlijn was de zoon van kleermaker Simon Berlijn en Vrouwtje (in de archieven ook Heintje genoemd) Kreveld uit Amsterdam. Tijdens zijn militaire keuring was Gerrit leerling diamantslijper …
