Salomon Abraham Bloemhof, born 20 August 1863 in Maassluis, was a son of Abraham Bloemhof (1834-1925) and Cato Reeder (1827-1888). At the age of 24, he married 11 January 1888 in Amsterdam the 34-year servant maid from Amsterdam, Roosje Ossendrijver, a daughter of Moses Jonas Ossendrijver and Judic Benedictus Bak. Salomon Abraham Bloemhof had been married before, to Roosje Ossendrijver. They married on the 11th of January 1888, in Amsterdam and had five children, one of whom was stillborn. All four children were killed in the war, with their partners and the children they themselves had: the families of Mozes Bloemhof, Cato de Leeuw-Bloemhof, Judith Wolff-Bloemhof en Reintje Kurk-Bloemhof.
