About David den Arend

David den Arend joined the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory in Amsterdam on 9 January 1939. On Wednesday, 11 November 1942, around 4:30 PM, Willy Lages conducted the Sicherheitspolizei raid on the Hollandia factories. Mijn overgrootmoeder, Rebekka van Gelder- den Arend, had 3 broers en 3 zussen. Geen van allen overleefde de oorlog. Van haar broer David is onbekend of zijn vrouw en kind de oorlog overleefd hebben. Haar broer Elias trouwde met Franziska Pollauf, zij verhuisde naar Oostenrijk. 

Rebekka's zoon, mijn opa, overleefde de oorlog. Voor ons is onbekend hoe.
