Hartog Lootsteen was a son of Isaac Lootsteen and Rebecca Ossendrijver. He married 27 March 1940 in Amsterdam to Marianna Blits, a daughter of Simon Blits and Rosette Schenkkan.
HartogLootsteen was born in a family with seven children, of whom one sister has survived the war. The other siblings, Mozes, Kaatje, Clara, Benedictus and Salomon have been killed during the Holocaust.
