This is a photo of the "reception" after the wedding of Hugo & Clemy Mosbacher's niece. Clemy is the first person in the photo and her husband, Hugo is the man standing in the back row. Next to him is Karla Knoller, the sister of the bride and Hugo & Clemy's niece who was deported and killed in Auschwitz shortly after this photo was taken. The Yellow Star is visible on the man (unknown) next to Clemy. The decree that all Jews wear the Yellow Star was issued shortly before the wedding in July, 1942.

Hugo and Clemy Mosbacher came to Amsterdam in March 1940 with a plan to travel on to the US. Their plan was foiled when Nazis invaded the Netherlands in May 1940. No exit visas were honored after that date. Hugo and Clemy were basicly trapped in Amsterdam. They were picked up and sent to Westerbork …
