Sophia Levitus-Barend

Sophia Barend, also known as Fie, was the fifth child of Salomon Barend and Lena IJzerkoper. She married Jakob Levitus from Winschoten, who was usually called Jacques, on 24 March 1920 in Amsterdam. He was a son of Heiman Levitus and Esther Kosses. The couple had two daughters, namely Esther (known as Elly) in January 1921 and Lena in August 1923. The entire family has been killed in the Shoah.

Jakob Levitus was the eighth and youngest child in the family of Heiman Levitus and Esther Kosses. He lived with his parents, sisters and brothers in his birthplace of Winschoten until age 7, when they moved to Amsterdam.
