About Hartog Roodveldt

Hartog Roodveldt joined the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory in Amsterdam on 27 January 1939. On Wednesday, 11 November 1942, around 4:30 PM, Willy Lages conducted the Sicherheitspolizei raid on the Hollandia factories. Het verhaal over de acties bij Hollandia Kattenburg klopt uiteraard, maar deze Hartog Roodveldt werkte daar toen al niet meer. Hij is bij de razzia in februari 1941 opgepakt en naar Mauthausen gestuurd.

Victims of february-raids gassed in Hartheim Castle.

On 22 and 23 Febuary 1941, raids took place in Amsterdam,  in which 390 Jewish men were arrested and deported. Only two of them survived. A recent investigation has shown that more than 100 men were gassed in Hartheim Castle, while Mauthausen was established as the official place of death.
