Raid in Amsterdam, to Buchenwald, Mauthausen, Schloss Hartheim.

Mozes was one of the men arrested in the raid in Amsterdam on 23 February 1941. On 28 February 1941 he arrived in Buchenwald (prisoner no. 1040), from where he was deported to Mauthausen on 22 May 1941. From there, according to a note in his "Mauthausen file", he was sent to Dachau on 13 Aug 1941, this was actually Schloss Hartheim, where prisoners, who could no longer work, were sent to be gassed…

Victims of february-raids gassed in Hartheim Castle.

On 22 and 23 Febuary 1941, raids took place in Amsterdam,  in which 390 Jewish men were arrested and deported. Only two of them survived. A recent investigation has shown that more than 100 men were gassed in Hartheim Castle, while Mauthausen was established as the official place of death.
