Deportation from the Panamakade and Borneokade (De Rietlanden) in Amsterdam to Westerbork, Photo 1943.  Jews are sent onto the waiting train, bound for Westerbork. German soldiers, Dutch police officers and employees of the Jewish Council (wearing armbands) arrange the transport. To the right of the middle are two German SS men, the one on the right an SS-Unterscharführer. In the background, two policemen from the Amsterdam Police Battalion (P.B.A.) are watching. On the far right is a man with a white band around his left arm with a number and the letters JR. He is from the Jewish Council of the Expositur department. Deportation from the Panamakade at the Rietlanden in Amsterdam. Photo 1943.  The train with 3rd class passenger carriages is ready to depart for Westerbork. German soldiers, Dutch police officers and employees of the Jewish Council (with armbands) arrange the transport. At the train is one of the two nurses who came along from the Hollandsche Schouwburg to help the sick. With her are others from the Jewish Council. Next to the train, which leaves at 20:05 hrs, are employees of the Dutch Railways.
