The Arnhem police commissioner requested that Jacob Hoffmann be located, detained and brought to trial. He lived in Arnhem and had changed his place of residence without the required authorization. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.

Arrestatie gezin Hoffmann

Jakob Hoffmann werd op 16 maart 1944 opgepakt op het adres Alteveer 17 in Arnhem, samen met zijn vrouw Taube Hoffmann-Offentier en dochter Lotte Hoffmann. Zij zaten op dat moment ondergedoken bij Hendrik Jan Willem Elbertsen (Duisburg, 4 maart 1912, melkventer). In een naoorlogse verklaring vertelde Elbertsen eerder aan Joden onderdak te hebben geboden.
