About Isaac Poons

In December 1941, a short obituary was placed in Het Joodsche Weekblad on the death of J. Poons. J. Poons was retired 1st bassoonist of the Residentie-orkest and former teacher at the State Academy of Music. For a few years, he had been attached to the Philharmonic Orchestra of Rotterdam as a solo-bassoonist.

Isaac (Jacques) Poons was the son of Hartog Poons and Saartje Snoek. He got married in 1906. The couple had two children: Herman and Rosaline. The wife of Isaac Poons survived the war.
