Hans Andriesse komt begin oktober 1942 vanuit het Joodse werkkamp De Zomp in Westerbork terecht. Daar ontmoet hij zijn oom Hugo en tante Eef uit Den Haag. “Mondain gekleed en charmant als altijd”, al is zijn oom Hugo sterk vermagerd. Zij vertellen hem dat hun zoon Henk al is doorgestuurd naar Polen, hun dochter Lies met haar man op weg naar Zwitserland in Frankrijk is gepakt en eveneens gedeportee…

Hugo Andriesse werd in juli 1942 vanuit Den Haag naar het werkkamp Ybenheer in Fochteloo overgebracht.
