About Juda Weijl

On 26 February 1814 King William I decreed that the Nederlandsch Israëlitisch Seminarium (NIS) was to be established in Amsterdam to train rabbis, teachers and other officers serving the Jewish community.
Juda Weijl, son of Simon, attended the NIS.

Vluchtpoging via België mislukt

Het jonge echtpaar Juda en Mirjam Weijl-Frank vat in 1942 het plan op naar veiliger oorden te vluchten, maar wordt op 23 oktober 1942 in België door de Duitse douane-inspekteur Göthling van het  Brusselse Devisenschutzkommando aangehouden en op 15.01.1943 met Transport
XVIII/XIX vanuit het doorgangskamp Mechelen naar Auschwitz gedeporteerd.
