Sara Poons was the daughter of Meijer Poons and Flora Noord. She married 6 December 1933 in Amsterdam to Hartog Hammelburg, a son of Mozes Hammelburg and Beelo Buitenkant. The couple had two children.
Sara had another brother Jozef who also did not survive the Holocaust.
