About Marcus van Spier, his wife Marianne Barend and their little daughter Sophia Belia van Spier.

Marianne Barend, usually called Marie, was the tenth  of the twelve children of Gerrit Polak and Heintje Visser. She was born on 6 January 1911 in Amsterdam and before she was married, she worked as a packer in cigar factory. The "Aussenkommando Moerdijk"

The only German-style concentration camp that was set up in our country was concentration camp Vught, which was opened in January 1943. The camp had a number of “Aussenkommando’s“ (satellite camps) including Moerdijk. This command was located in the old barracks of the anti-aircraft artillery near the harbour. Politie dag- en nachtrapporten Hilversum

Op zondag 2 mei 1943 om 16.10 uur geeft H. Poort, wonend Pelikaanstraat 33 alhier, kennis dat onbevoegden in perceel Kamerlingh Onnesweg 64 binnen te dringen en aldaar vernieling plegen. Ook achter in de tuin werden de planten vernield. In bedoeld perceel hebben joden gewoond en er bevinden zich nog meubelen.
