David van der Stam and his family

The Van der Stam family settled in Hoogkarspel after the war broke out. David van der Stam was the owner of several butcher's shops in Amsterdam and therefore took the train to Amsterdam every day. He frequently went to pub Bantam in Hoogkarspel. When the owner was forced to hang the sign "Forbidden for Jews" on the door, he asked David van der Stam to enter the pub from the back from now on.
