About Abraham Feitsma

On Saturday, 11 April 1942, at 7 o'clock in the evening, ten Jewish residents of Leeuwarden were arrested in retaliation for removing the sign 'No Jews allowed' from a public bench in the Vossepark. They were sent to the camp at Amersfoort. Abraham Feitsma (known as Appie) was among them. He lived at 67 Transvaalstraat in Leeuwarden. In addition, a Jokos file (number 6963) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 3258/13469).

Overlijdensdatum van Abraham Feitsma was waarschijnlijk 19 augustus 1942

In de na de oorlog opgemaakte overlijdensakten werd om juridische redenen een vaak fictieve overlijdensdatum bepaald. In het geval van Abraham Feitsma wijkt die sterk af van de wellicht feitelijke datum

De na de oorlog in overlijdensakten gekozen data zijn vaak gissingen, vandaar de datering op de helft of het einde van de maand. In het geval van Abraham Feitsma is die fictieve datum 15 maart 1944.
 
Volgens de Sterbebücher van Auschwitz stierf Feitsma op 19 augustus 1942. Hij maakte deel uit van het transport vanuit Kamp Amersfoort op 16 juli 1942: ruim 300 mannen die vaak al in slechte conditie…
