About Schoontje Koopman-Levy

Schoontje Levij was a daughter of Salomon Philip Levij and Saartje Gast. She married 30 June 1886 in Amsterdam to Emanuel Koopman, a son of Isaac Moses Koopman and Roosje Levison.
The couple had nine children, of whom two children have died in childhood. The other children, Isaac, Salomon, Levie, Hijman, Joseph, Samson and Betje, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
Emanuel Koopman passed away in July 1912 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery of Zeeburg in Amsterdam on 7 July 1912. Since 11 August 1925, Schoontje Levij lived in with her youngest daughter Betje and her husband Zacharias Swaab.
