Duisburg Emigrant

Berhardine lived with her parents, Max Moses Goldstein ((22.12.1885) and Fanny Feige Goldstein née Schurberg (16.03.1884) in Duisburg, Germany until she moved to Kalkar in 1938. She emigrated to Holland in 1939 with her sister Edith, who was also deported. Her brother Arthur (1920) emigrated illegally to Holland in December 1938, then from Belgium emigrated illegally to Palestine in 1939. Their parents were deported to Ghetto Litzmannstadt in 1941, leaving Arthur the only surviving member of his family. He was living in Haifa, Israel in 1966.
