Levie Koopman, a son of Emanuel Koopman and Schoontje Levij, married 9 April 1913 in Amsterdam to Rachel Zak, a daughter of Machiel Zak and Judith Olivier. The couple had three children; one child died in 1914, only 2 months old. Both the other children, Judith and the at home living Jeannette, have been killed too during the Holocaust.
Levie was born in a family with nine children, of whom two children have died in childhood. His other siblings, . Isaac, Salomon, Hijman, Joseph, Samson and Betje, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
