Walter Sander

Walter Sander fled to the Netherlands at the end of 1938. For some time he lived with the family of Jozef Sealtiel. Later the family of Emanuel van Dijk took him as a foster child into their home.

Walter, Kurt, Herbert and their sister came to the Netherlands on December 16th, 1938. They stayed in the Rivierenhuis in de Steeg, and at several addresses in The Hague, amongst others with the Wieselthier couple. From May 1940 they lived with families in The Hague, and Herbert went to the orphanage in that city in November 1942, because his foster parents were deported.
