About Mietje Arpels

Mietje Arpels was a daughter of Salomon Arpels and Rebecca Polak. She was a seamstress in a garment factory. She married Meijer Polak in Amsterdam on 1 April 1942, a son of Abraham Polak and Femmina Caransa. She lived separately from her newly wed husband, at the addresses of their own parents. On 7 September 1942, Mietje Arpels was deported from Westerbork to Auschwitz, where she on 10 September …

Mietje Polak-Arpels joined the Hollandia-Kattenburg textile factory in Amsterdam on 8 July 1941. On Wednesday, 11 November 1942, around 4:30 PM, Willy Lages conducted the Sicherheitspolizei raid on the Hollandia factories.
