About Mozes Brilleslijper

Mozes Brilleslijper was a son of Hartog Brilleslijper and Esther Schelvis. His father however passed away alreay in 1913, when Mozes was only 2 years old. His mother remarried in 1920 to Jacob Pots. His halfbrother was ((505417|Ruben Pots.00

Victims of february-raids gassed in Hartheim Castle.

On 22 and 23 Febuary 1941, raids took place in Amsterdam,  in which 390 Jewish men were arrested and deported. Only two of them survived. A recent investigation has shown that more than 100 men were gassed in Hartheim Castle, while Mauthausen was established as the official place of death.

Jonas Brilleslijper was het eerste kind van Hartog Brilleslijper en Esther Schelvis. Zijn ouders waren een maand voor zijn geboorte in het huwelijk getreden. Jonas groeide op in het hart van de Jodenbuurt met een broer, Mozes, en een zusje, Naatje.
