Postcard from Camp Westerbork from Louis and Rebecca Degen, which they have sent to J. van der Glas (Sjaak), where their youngest son Marcus (Max) was brought to. In this card they show interest in "your nephew", glossing over that they in fact meant their own little son. The postcard has a wrong date: 1942 should be 1943.

About Isaac van der Glas

Isaac van der Glas was a son of Jochem van der Glas and Elsje Bonnewit. He married 22 May 1919 in Amsterdam the non-Jewish Maria Johanna Eduardina Heick from Hamburg, a daughter of Christian Peter Heick and Hanne Marie Hansen. The couple had no children.

Isaac van der Glas, also known as Sjaak, lived at Kerkstraat 330 II in Amsterdam and worked as pianist among others at the Tuschinsky film theat…

About Isaäc van der Glas

Isaäc van der Glas was married. He and his wife had no children. They lived in Amsterdam. Isaäc van der Glas was a musician. During the Nazi occupation, he helped Jews. He was betrayed and arrested on 19 September 1943 and deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork. His wife survived the war.
