Volgens de persoonskaart van Gitta Compart heetten haar ouders Max Compart en Margereta Landsberger. De ouders waren gescheiden.

Gitta komt in januari 1939 met haar oudere zus naar Nederland. Via Wijk aan Zee, Beverwijk en het Amsterdamse Burgerweeshuis komt ze in juni 1939 bij een pleeggezin op de Amsterdamse Nieuwendijk te wonen.

Her first name is Sitta, not Gitta, please correct. (see Bundesarchiv Gedenkbuch and Yad Vashem) Sitta lived with her mother Margarete (nee Landsberger, 08.09.1894 in Breslau) at Markusstr. 24 in Berlin-Friedrichshain and Schönhauser Allee 162 in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg. Her mother was deported to Auschwitz and killed on 31.03.1943. (Berliner Gedenkbuch, Berlin Addressbooks)
