Levie Velleman lived with his family over a bicycle shed in the center of Den Bosch. He was radio amateur. Levie was arrested when he was in a café where Jews were not allowed to go inside. He was taken to a police station by a local police sergeant. There his family provided him with food. After his deportation, his wife was left behind with their three children. Levie Velleman and Betsy Wertheim were married and had three children: Cato, Abraham Levie and Wolf. Once per year the children got new clothes from the family. On that occation always a picture was taken.

Cato Velleman was bijna zes jaar oud toen het Duitse leger Nederland binnenviel. Cato werd geboren op 25 mei 1934 in Den Bosch en groeide daar op als oudste in een gezin van drie kinderen.
