Carolina ten Brink-Weijel

A memorial in Denekamp commemorates the Jewish victims of this town. More information on this memorial can be found (in Dutch) on the website of the Nationaal Comité 4 en 5 mei.

Carolina Weijl was een dochter van Jacob Weijel en Aaltje Hanouwer (te Zutphen).
N.B. Haar familienaam wordt bij ouders en beide broers Abraham en Joseph geschreven als Weijel.

Jacob ten Brink was married to Carolina Weijel. They had three children: Minna Aaltje, Aaltje Minna and Samuel. The family lived at 32 Brinkstraat in Denekamp. Jacob ten Brink's mother, Minna ten Brink-van der Walde, lived with them. Like his brother Adolf, Jacob ten Brink was a cattle dealer. On 17 November 1942 the family was sent to Westerbork, from where they were deported to Auschwitz.
