About Abraham Appelboom

Abraham Appelboom, butcher, was a son of Samuel Appelboom and Roosje Sluijzer. He married 27 May 1942 in Amsterdam Judith van Kleef, a daughter of Benjamin van Kleef and Henriette de Leon. The couple had in November 1942 a son Samuel Benjamin, who has survived the Holocaust. Abraham's father passed away already before the war.

Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos files reveal that a claim was lodged for compensation for valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 258/4136).

Abraham Appelboom werd samen met Salomon Nebig begin februari 1943 opgepakt na 'een anonieme mededeling'. Hij was in oktober gevlucht uit Westerbork. Overigens staat in het dagrapport van het bureau "Joodsche Zaken" als zijn beroep vermeld 'slager'.
