André Neuburger was hidden by the lovely Herinx family in Kerkrade, Limburg, Netherlands. Josef Herinx was involved with the resistance and happily took in André. Eventually André was moved to the house of Theresa Herinx-Smeets, Josef's mother, for his own saftey.
He stayed with Theresa until the end of the war and grew close with Josef and his family.

André eventually maried, moved abroad, and had a large family of his own with his beloved wife. André passed away in October 2021 at the age of 94.
