The fate of Manuel van Straten.

Manuel van Straten was a son of Bernard Salomon van Straten and Mietje Walg, born in Herwijnen on 4 October 1913. He was a farmer and agriculturalist and he was unmarried. He lived at home with his parents at Molenstraat B96 in Herwijnen but was taken in the spring of 1943 and sent to concentration camp Vught. From there, he was sent to the sub camp (Aussenkommando) Moerdijk, where he stayed in barrack 2b. Also his parents were sent to Vught but the exact date of that is not known.

On 3 July 1943 Manuel van Straten was sent back to Vught and immediately transported to Westerbork, where he stayed for a few days in barrack 60, waiting for his deportation. On 6 July he was put on transport to Sobibor where he was immediately killed on arrival there on 9 July 1943.
