Alexander Lisser was the son of Markus Salomon and Kaatje Nathan Lisser. He married Vogeltje Cohen in 1898. The couple had three children who did not survive the Holocaust: Meijer, Margaretha and Marcus. Also his son-in-law Isaac Polak, husband of Alexander's daughther Catharina Lisser, did not survive the war. His granddaughter Margaretha Polak passed away shortly after her return from the concentration camp Bergen Belsen.
