Jacques Hertzberger was a lawyer and an insurer before he became an owner of a boarding house. He was also involved in the Jewish community.
Jacques had three children: Emanuel, Eva en Theodoor.
Jacques Hertzberger was the widower of Henriette Betje Staal. Their son, Emanuel Hertzberger, lived together with his wife and three children in Den Haag.
