Biography

About Andries Godfried

After the death of his father in 1938 Andries Godfried took over the cattle trade and wholesale meat business, which his father started in 1930. He also worked at the slaughterhouse on the Galgenkampsweg in Meppel. Later in the war he was not allowed to do this work any longer because of his Jewish origin. On 17 August 1942 he was brought to the labour camp Linde, and one day later he was sent to Westerbork.
