Abraham Benjamins and Sophia Arend had two children, who survived the war. Abraham Benjamins was a commercial painter, pleasant company and an artist. He was liberal Jewish. He liked to organise entertainment. In 1942 he was first in labour camp Putten, before he was sent to Westerbork with his wife. Sophia Arend was chef-saleslady in a fashion store. She was in charge at home, especially regarding money matters and the education of the children.
