Abraham Broches and his family

Abraham Broches and Chaja Person ran a sigaretfactory. The couple had two children. A son, Elias Broches, also known as Epie, played jazz piano. During his high school he played at the club Monico at the Rembrandtplein. In 1942 he was arrested when trying to cross the Chanal to England. He was executed. The other child, who had immigrated to the United States, survived the war.

In addition, a Jokos file (number 15374) on this family is at the Amsterdam Municipal Archive. Access is subject to authorization from the Stichting Joods Maatschappelijk Werk.The Jokos file reveals that a claim was lodged for compensation for :
- looted jewellery (S-claim, number 3/492)
- valuables surrendered to the Lippmann-Rosenthal looting bank (L-claim, number 1498/3041)
