Martin Krause trouwde  7 augustus 1922 in Lahr (Duitsland) met Mina Wertheimer. Ze kregen samen een dochter. Vanaf 1933 woonde het gezin in Nederland, eerst in Nijmegen en later in Amsterdam. Martin overleed tijdens de oorlog in Amsterdam op 24 juli 1943.

Op of omstreeks 24 juli 1943 hebben Martin Krause en zijn echtgenote Mina Wertheimer getracht zelfmoord te plegen door gasverstikking. Martin is daaraan overleden en Mina heeft de poging overleefd. (Bron dagrapport politie Amsterdam)
