Isaäc Roselaar was a son of Joël Philip Roselaar and Saartje Roodfeld. He married Mathilda Klerk in 1883 in Amsterdam. She died in 1939. They had six children, among whom Joseph, Emanuël and Anna.

On 15 September 1942 Isaäc moved in with his son Joseph on Transvaalplein 20 boven. On 8 March 1943 he moved to Afrikanerplein 11 II.
