About Henriette Klara Winter.

Henriette Klara Winter, born in 1923 in Düsseldorf, was a daughter from the second marriage of Levie Winter and Else Vasen from Neuß. Levie Winter’s first wife, Roosje van Duren, passed wasy in 1919 in Arnhem and Levie Winter remarried then, presumably in 1921 in Düsseldorf Else Vasen. This marriage however did not last and 26 December 1926 in Düsseldorf it ended in a divorce.

It is not known were Henriette stayed after the divorce of her parents. During the wa, her mother resided in Berlin Charlottenburg and she was killed 8 May 1942 in Kulmhof (Chelmo), after she was deported in October 1942 to the ghetto of Lodz. It is certain however that Henriette stayed in Holland during the war, presumably already earlier. She worked as maid and lived at Jan Toebacklaan 12 in Bussum. According her registration card of the Jewish Council, her last known address was Jan Willem Brouwersplein 21 in Amsterdam and from there she was deported to Westerbork 10 September 1942. Already the next day, 11 September she was put on transport to Auschwitz and on arrival there 14 September 1942, the 18-year old Henriette Klara Winter has been immediately killed.
