Biography

About Abraham Bas

Abraham Bas, butcher by profession, was a son of Hartog Bas and Sientje Peperwortel. He married Chaje Trobuschicht from Odessa in Amsterdam on 22 Mei 1907, a daughter of Moisje Trobuschicht en Hanna Mochalik. The couple had three children, of whom two presumably have survived the war. Their daughter Sientje married Salomon Crost and had two children with him, of whom one son died after 8 months in infancy. Sientje and Salomon divorced and she remarried a non-Jewish man. Her ex-husband Salomon Crost was killed in Auschwitz on 30 September 1942. She self passed away in Switzerland in July 1945. Her daughter from her first marriage seems to have survived the war. Abraham Bas was killed in Auschwitz on 7 September 1942, together with his wife Chaje.
