Willi Leopold (r), Irma (l), and Doris (m) on Liberation Day, 8.5.45, Westbroek, Holland, near where they had been in hiding for 2-1/2 years.

Willi Leopold was the son of David II and Bertha Leopold and the brother of Ludwig Leopold. He was born in Bleichenbach, Germany on July 13, 1905. He married Irma Siesel and had one child, my mother, Doris Leopold, on April 6, 1935.

In 1936, WIlli, Irma and Doris moved to Holland. They settled in Westbroek. In 1942 (?) they were sent to Westerbork Camp. They escaped and were on the run for 8 month…
