Biography

About Rachel Meents-Hakker.

Rachel Hakker was a daughter of Benjamin Hakker and Frederika Engelsman. She married 13 February 1884 in Amsterdam Levie Meents, a son of Mozes David Meents and Roosje Lap. Levie Meents passed away in 1927 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery at Muiderberg. The couple had ten children of whom Samuel, Benjamin, Abraham and Jesaia were killed in the Shoah.

Since 1935, Rachel Meents Hakker lived at Onbekendegracht 11 3rd floor in Amsterdam but moved per 30 October 1940 to Pension Dingsdag at Hogeweg 15 ground floor in Amsterdam. (Guest house 'Dingsdag' was runned by Leendert Dingsdag, who lived at the same address).

Rachel Hakker passed away in Amsterdam 3 January 1941 and was interred in the Jewish Cemetery at Muiderberg 5 January 1941.
